Ukraine, 18th century. Panic is spreading among the Polish gentry as disgruntled peasants rise up in the Carpathians. The Poles call them robbers, but for Ukrainians they are real folk heroes. The rebels are led by the elusive Oleksa Dovbush, proclaimed by the Poles themselves as the Prince of Chornohora.
