This book is all about bringing hexagons into the classroom to support and strengthen collaborative, critical and creative thinking and enhance surface and deep understanding. To do so, it draws together two powerful tools for learning: SOLO Taxonomy, a dynamic, levelled but non-linear, recursive model for growth in understanding; and hexagonal thinking, a strategy for finding connections between ideas on separate hexagon tiles, forming clusters and drawing insights from them.\nThe result is the SOLO Hexagons learning strategy to deepen understanding when students are exploring ideas, fuzzy problems or complex uncertainties. |
